Dr. Kourosh is a board certified dermatologist and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. She is a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she received the institution’s Excellence Award in Dermatology, and during her residency was chosen by the faculty and her peers for awards in Leadership and for Outstanding Professionalism and Humanism as a physician.

Dr. Kourosh is committed to patient advocacy and solving public health problems for patients with skin disease. She developed the Skin Advocate iPhone App, a free iPhone application that connects patients with patient advocacy organizations for their skin conditions. She has published and been recognized in many publications, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), JAMA Dermatology, Dermatologic Clinics, and Dermatology World Magazine. She served as Editor-in-Chief of Dialogues in Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology’s official podcast and internationally subscribed educational program for physicians.

Dr. Kourosh serves as the Dermatology Department’sĀ Director of Community Health,Ā increasing access to dermatologic care for underserved communities in the Boston area. She is the founding director of theĀ Clinic for Pigmentary DisordersĀ at Massachusetts General Hospital, and the founder and director ofĀ Project Phoenix, MGH’s pro-bono tattoo removal program, assisting those seeking to escape gangs and human trafficking to be safe and reintegrate into society, which has won national awards for its impact. She also advocates for patients at the national level as a representative of the American Academy of Dermatology’s delegation to Congress to protect medical research and affordable care for patients with skin disease.

In 2020, Dr. Kourosh was named one of Medscape’s 25 Rising Stars in Medicine.

Dr. Stern is the Ned H. Cassem Professor of Psychiatry in the field of Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation, Harvard Medical School and Chief Emeritus of the Avery D. Weisman Psychiatry Consultation Service, Director of the Thomas P. Hackett Center for Scholarship in Psychosomatic Medicine, and Director of the Office for Clinical Careers, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston,
Massachusetts. Dr. Stern has written more than 450 scientific articles and book chapters and edited more than 25 books, including the Massachusetts General Hospital Handbook of General Hospital Psychiatry (4/eā€“7/e), Massachusetts General Hospital Comprehensive Clinical Psychiatry (1/e, 2/e), Massachusetts General Hospital Guide to Primary Care Psychiatry (1/e, 2/e), Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Update and Board Preparation (1/eā€“4/e), and Facing Cancer, Facing Heart Disease, Facing Diabetes, Facing Rheumatoid Arthritis, Facing Immunotherapy, Facing Lupus, Facing Osteoporosis, Facing Scleroderma, Facing Psoriasis, Facing Eczema, Facing Vitiligo, Facing Transplantation, Facing Postoperative Pain, Facing Pelvic Pain, and Facing Overweight and Obesity.
